What Our 1-Year Service Warranty Covers
Our warranty applies exclusively to watches that receive a Complete Watch Service (Full Overhaul) at our Dubai service center. During those 12 months, we cover 100% of the parts and labor required to fix any functional issue directly linked to our work:
Movement Accuracy & Calibration: Mechanical watches rely on dozens of microscopic gears working in harmony. If your watch starts gaining or losing more time than manufacturer tolerances allow, bring it back and we will recalibrate the movement on our timing machines.
Power Reserve Issues: If we serviced or replaced your mainspring and your automatic or manual-wind watch stops holding its expected power reserve under normal wear, we will inspect and rectify the winding assembly.
Defects in Replaced Components: We source authentic, high-grade components for your watch. Should any internal part we installed fail due to a manufacturing or installation defect within a year, we will replace it free of charge. This warranty is strictly limited to manufacturing or installation defects and does not cover part failures caused by mishandling, accidental drops, external force, or water damage.
Workmanship & Lubrication: Over time, watch oils can settle. If a gear binds or a complication (like a chronograph pusher or date jump) sticks because of our assembly or lubrication work, our technicians will put it right.
What is Not Covered (Policy Exclusions)
We believe in being completely upfront so there are never any surprises at the counter. Our 1-Year Warranty does not apply to the following services or situations:
Standalone & Minor Services
Because we have not disassembled and overhauled the entire engine of your watch during minor jobs, the 1-year warranty does not cover watches brought in only for:
- Exterior case and bracelet polishing or scratch removal
- Standalone quartz battery replacements
- Ultrasonic cleaning or link adjustments
- Minor, isolated fixes (where a recommended full service was declined)
Post-Service Wear, Tear, and Accidents
Even the toughest luxury sports watch has delicate internals. Your warranty will no longer apply if the timepiece suffers from:
- Physical Impact or Shock: Dropping the watch, hitting it against a hard surface, or playing high-impact sports (like golf or tennis) can bend pivots or snap balance staffs.
- Water or Moisture Damage: While we replace rubber gaskets and pressure-test watches during a full service, water damage caused by leaving the crown unscrewed, pushing chronograph buttons underwater, or exposing a dress watch to steam/hot tubs is not covered.
- Cosmetic Wear: Normal daily scratches on the bezel, crystal, clasp, or leather strap shrinkage.
- Magnetic Fields: Placing your watch directly on laptops, tablets, or magnetic speakers can magnetize the hairspring and make the watch run fast.
(Note: If this happens, just pop into our Dubai center, demagnetizing a watch takes minutes and we are always happy to help).
Unauthorized Repairs or Tampering
If anyone outside of ChronoStreet opens your watch caseback, swaps a dial, adds aftermarket diamonds, or attempts a watch repair during your 12-month warranty window, the warranty becomes void. We can only guarantee work when our technicians are the last ones to seal the watch.
3 Simple Habits to Keep Your Watch & Warranty Safe
Most warranty issues happen by accident. Our master watchmakers in Dubai recommend three simple habits to keep your freshly serviced timepiece running smoothly for years:
- Always Check Your Crown Before Washing Up: Over 80% of moisture damage we see in Dubai happens because a screw-down crown was left slightly loose after setting the time. Always push and screw the crown down gently until it is snug.
- Avoid Setting the Date Between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM: Inside your mechanical watch, the date-change gears start engaging slowly around 9:00 PM. Forcing a quick-set date change during this window can snap the delicate date jumper teeth, a common accidental break that warranties cannot cover.
- Wind Gently if Your Watch Sits in a Safe: If you rotate between several luxury watches, give your unworn mechanical piece 20 to 30 gentle clockwise turns of the crown once a month. This keeps the fresh synthetic oils we applied evenly distributed across the jewels.
