Watch Crown Repair

watch crown repair

The Problem

The crown handles winding, time-setting, and date changes, and it seals the case against water. Daily use wears it down. Common faults include:

The Fix

We remove the crown and stem, check the threads on both the crown and the case tube, and inspect the gaskets that keep water out. Depending on what we find, we:

Crystal Repair and Glass Replacement

The Problem

Watch crystals come in three materials, and each fails differently:
A cracked crystal is more than a cosmetic issue. Loose glass fragments scratch the dial and bend the hands, and a crack breaks the water seal. A missing or loose date magnifier (Cyclops lens) also counts as crystal damage.

The Fix

After every crystal job, we clean the dial and hands of any dust or debris and test the case seal. Glass replacement starts from AED 995. Final cost depends on your watch model and crystal type. Our full repair price list has every service we offer.

Movement Repair and Servicing

The Problem

Movement faults show up as timekeeping trouble. Signs that your movement needs attention:

The Fix

We start every movement job with a diagnosis on a timegrapher. It measures rate, amplitude, and beat error, so we fix the actual fault instead of guessing.

Bracelet Repair

The Problem

Metal bracelets wear at every joint. Pins rub against link holes for years, and the gaps grow. Common faults:

The Fix

Scuffed or scratched links can look new again with our professional watch polishing service. For heavily worn vintage bracelets, a full watch restoration brings the case and bracelet back together as a matched set.

Meet Our Watch Repair Experts

Aiman Moner

Aiman Moner, Master Watchmaker

Aiman leads our movement and full-maintenance work. His standard: a watch leaves the bench without a single new scratch. That comes down to how he opens a case.

He uses dedicated bezel removal tools and correct caseback tools instead of improvised blades, so the case, bezel, and crown area stay unmarked.

Inside the movement, he selects the right lubricating oil for each point. The wrong oil, or too much of it, migrates or thickens and leads to the same wear a service should prevent. He works with tweezers and loupes for close inspection at every stage.

Ahmed Al Qaisi, Watchmaker

Ahmed trained at the bench under Aiman and specializes in opening and closing watches, including cases and bracelets with damaged screws.

Stripped, seized, or broken screws stop many repairs elsewhere. Ahmed removes them without harming the surrounding threads or metal, so we can fit new screws and keep the original parts.

He works mainly on Rolex with bezel removal tools, tweezers, and loupes.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQs

Glass replacement at ChronoStreet starts from AED 995. The final price depends on the crystal material (sapphire, mineral, or acrylic) and your watch model.

Yes, on acrylic crystals. We polish out light scratches on acrylic. Sapphire is too hard to polish in the same way, so deep scratches or chips on sapphire need a replacement crystal.

Keep the crown pushed in, stop wearing the watch, and bring it to us within a day. We dry the movement, replace the failed gaskets, and pressure-test the case before rust sets in.

Magnetism is the most common cause. Phones, laptops, speakers, and magnetic bag clasps can magnetize the hairspring. We demagnetize the movement and regulate it.
Follow the interval your brand recommends. Rolex suggests around 10 years for its current models, while older watches and other brands often need service sooner. Book a service earlier if timekeeping changes or the watch stops overnight.
Yes. A screw-down crown that won’t thread usually has a worn crown tube or damaged threads. We replace the tube or crown and test the seal.
We replace gaskets during case work and test water resistance after crown and crystal repairs, so your watch keeps its seal.
Yes. Rolex makes up most of our repair work, including crowns, crystals, bracelets, and movement servicing.
